My name is Chandler Guadagnin. I am a currently a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I am majoring in Communication with an emphasis in News/Journalism. Ever since I learned what broadcasting was, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. I have numerous hard and soft skills that I have acquired through my internship and employment opportunities.
It all started during my freshman year of high school, when I emailed a local station asking for an internship. It wasn’t long before I heard back from them and was welcomed in as an intern. The following year, I was hired as a broadcast engineer for the family of stations. As is mentioned in my adjoining resume, I developed the ability to write scripts, produce content for on air use, and ad lib for live reports. However, these hard skills are not the only qualities that set me apart. As my one-year internship began to wind down, I was disappointed that I would not be able to continue to work for the company. About a week later, I received a call from the station saying that they had an opening for me, which I readily accepted. I later came to find out that, the position had been created for me, just so that they could keep me around. I am the kind of employee that will do anything for the company. One Sunday night, as I was sitting down for dinner, I received a call from the station asking me to come in because a dam in a nearby town had broken and we were asked to warn residents and assist with updates. I gladly came in at around 8 PM and helped operate the boards. I did not leave until about 1 AM.
